PCCA was founded to help local people get local support, tips, and attend classes for composting. We study scientifically proven composting methods to help people create healthy soil and reduce harmful greenhouse emissions of methane. One of the most resourceful aspects of PCCA is community composting - to help create connections between people in the community and drop of hubs where experts can properly compost food waste for neighbors who may be unable to do so. Our goal is to set up a community compost hub every few blocks so that no food or yard waste ends up leaving our communities. It's a valuable resource that we too often throw away with the trash.
